- Many of the services who we work with provide support for people who live with conditions which can make their behaviour unpredictable. Thankfully, we are now several decades past the time when this would result in punitive measures being taken, which would only ever make matters worse. In this day and age, staff are taught to develop relationships with individuals, and person-centred strategies for reducing stress, both of which are designed to reduce incidents. Acumen Care Education are members of the Restraint Reduction Network, and we are fully committed to training non-restrictive approaches.
- For 13 years, Acumen Care Education have provided this very sensitive area of training, within both the public and private sectors. During this time, we have gained a reputation for knowledgeable delivery which focusses heavily on the prevention of challenging behaviour, while delivering the necessary practical skills for dealing positively and safely with an incident
- We are accredited by the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) and the Institute of Conflict Management (ICM) to train trainers in the delivery of this major topic. Like everything else we do, we make every effort to ensure that the learner receives an experience which is rotted in their own service.
